Just finished it. Warning : Do not skip ahead and read the last page. it will ruin the whole book.  That's all I'm saying.

Was it any good?

Anybody read this one?  It's been years since I've bought a Star Wars novel but I think zahn's stuff is the best set of novels in the Star Wars galaxy.

I think its also a testament to the show how well the casting was done.  I think there were four successful actors/actresses that got their start on this show, plus a few other people you've seen pop up from time to time.

Seth Rogan
Jason Segel
James Franco
Linda Cardellini

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Disney Buys LFL; Announces Episode 7

If Hamill and Fisher are in the new movies I hope they get digitally re-touched.  They haven't aged well and might scare the kids  ;)

I just hope they stay away from Spielberg and any of Lucas' buddies.  I've not been impressed with Spielberg's recent work and would love to see them go with someone capable of challenging GL's opinions.

I agree with a previous post that Lucas' "yes men" have not been helpful.  Saw "Red Tails" the other day and thought it was on the bad side of below average.

EW.com had a great potential list:
  • Christopher Nolan
  • Peter Jackson
  • JJ Abrams
  • Joss Whedon
  • Guillermo del Toro

Lucas must have terminal cancer to give up his control of his projects.

Downloaded OS6.  Looking forward to FaceTime on 3G networks.

I think Apply completely screwed up by going away from Google Maps.  Google Maps are far, far superior to the junk Apple just put out.  3D is nothing but a gimmick.

Met Matt at a local meeting to sell some POTF2 figures for his collection.  Smooth transaction.

I haven't seen anything clear out of comic con. Didn't seem like they showed any new clone wars figures (other than realistic styling).   Anybody there and hear anything about the future of this line?

Super lame.  Saw the video on JTA.  This is about the lamest, most un-fun thing I've seen Hasbro release in a long time.  I think my kids would play with this for about 10 minutes before moving on and never touching it again.

Its hard to see how I would pay more than $50 for this, and that is almost solely because I'm still somewhat of a completist.

Bumping up an oldie here....but recently my parents had brought out some tubs of old toys to have out when we visit so our daughter has stuff to play with.  Anyways, one tub was filled with several (incomplete) micro machine sets.  I personally didn't have these, but my brother (who is 12 years younger than me) apparently had several - and my daughter and I had a lot of fun playing with these recently.  Most of them are the "head" sets that I remember somewhat, and there is also a Falcon in there.  Anyways, I really know next to nothing about micro machines, but I was wondering if these are hard to pick up these days?  Kind of thought about picking some up to have here at home, but wasn't sure what was the right way to go.  The transforming head sets seemed kind of neat, and I'd love to get a Falcon one, but wasn't sure how rare/pricey this stuff was these days.  Either way, I have to say, they are some fun little toys.

I recently sold a whole pile of extras on eBay for close to original retail.  These are one of the few things that seem to have maintained their value.  There are some for sale on eBay.

I don't see these selling at all.  The pegs at Target seem to be crammed and stagnant with these overpriced squinkies.

I wouldn't mind picking up a few for the kids, but the current price is nuts.  These need to be at least 50% lower before I would even consider picking up some.

Gentle Giant / WonderCon Yoda
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:51 PM »
I'm potentially looking to pick up this new Yoda sculpt (not sure what the cost is), but am not a 2012 Premier Guild member.  Any Guild Members that would be interested in grabbing this for me?

The Vintage Collection / Re: Big Items of the Future!
« on: January 27, 2012, 02:27 PM »
Like Jesse said...almost every single one of them has been clearanced and the amount and severity of clearance keeps growing.

Anybody ever talk to Hasbro about the Attack Gunship?  I wonder what happened to a lot of these that were at retail.

I know Amazon really clearanced them out, but it seems like all of Target's stock was pulled back (by Hasbro?).  I don't recall these even hitting 30% off before being removed from the shelves.
