Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Battle Packs
« on: October 26, 2005, 08:27 PM »
I really enjoy miniature figures mostly due to the fact that they make great displays and creating diaramas is a lot easier (and cheaper) than with the 3 3/4 size.  While I absolutely hate that the 7" Unleashed are on hold for the time being, I don't think these miniatures are the reason at fault for that.  I am going to give these a chance...if they look like **** once they come out and are manufactured poorly then I'll pass on them.  But some of the pictures look pretty nice, and an army of these guy would be pretty sweet...

All 3 of my AT ST boosters had.. an admiral ackbar, that spider-brain creature from Jabba's palace-(sorry memory's bad at the moment) and baron fel

-that what you need? Don't hate/ alleviate

the booster that surprised me the most was the baron- fel/ATST they're even in the same set and I thought you're supposed to get somebody from each different set..or at least never 2 from the same set( ex. imperials) in a booster!

I believe the with the UH Breakdown, you are guaranteed to get one Huge figure (of RANDOM rarity) and then of the 6 other minis, you are guaranteed 1 Rare or Very Rare, 2 Uncommons, and 3 commons...so it is very possible to get multiple Rares or Very Rares...of the boosters I picked up today, I got a Rancor and Dr. Evazan (the best UH booster I've gotten to date) and another with an AT-ST and the Darth Maul on Speeder (another great  booster)...so I know that it is possible.  Just an FYI...

Just picked up the POTC Vader at a local comic book store today, they had it for $7.99...couldn't resist it!  They had Rabe and the Wookie, but none of the other re-packs except Vader.

LEGO / Re: Lego Mini vehicle line - What do you think?
« on: September 1, 2005, 03:02 AM »
The mini sets are awesome, but with the 2005 wave being exclusives only, not even available on Lego Shop at Home...that really sucks.  I know that the mini ships were popular, with most of the waves flying off the shelves when they were first issued...I really wish they would revive the mini ships with some of the other ROTS ships.  I think a Greivous Wheel Bike, Droid Tri-fighter, maybe a the Wookie Catamaran and an AT-RT...there are a lot of options to continue the line, including a B-Wing, an A-Wing, and others...it could be so good, even at 4 per year...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Toy Runs affected by Gas Prices?
« on: September 1, 2005, 02:23 AM »
When I left this morning to drive to the Bay Area (CA) gas was $2.79...on the way home, same gas station was $3.01.  Tonight on the news, I saw a BP Station in Atlanta that had regular unleaded at $5.97 per gallon  :o  With prices like that, my SW runs are going to be severely impacted if gas prices exceed $3 a gallon for any length of time.  The thing that pisses me off is that all of our gas on the west coast comes from the Alaska pipeline, and not from anywhere impacted by the storm.  That is just a bunch of bull****.  Damn gas companies rising the prices just because they can rape people and for no other reason.  Though the biggest way gas price increases affect store runs is more money spent on gas = less money to spend on figures.

I just saw that Vader today at a local comic book shop for about $10...this thread will probably make me go back and get it, might be a good trading piece in the future.  I'll have to check the other post OTC figures there and pick up the Luke too if there is one.  I just cannot believe those prices on eBay...some people have way too much money... ;)

Thanks so far for all the offers!!!

-As for the Queen Amidala (Battle) and Sio Bibble, a lot of people have asked about them, but they have already found a new home...
