This seems a little odd.  We've essentially got all of these figures already (R2, Luke, Leia, Chewie). 

I personally am not interested in slight variations or a packaging variant for these figures.

I would rather see them do something different if they wanted to do a 40th Anniversary set.  Lots of great characters left to do from ANH in the 6" line.  No need to rehash.

Please spare us some half assed exclusive like that TRU "Cantina Showdown" garbage. We already had those characters too. There's like 800 different great options for new characters in this scale, we don't need repacks, retools, tweaks or similar nonsense. Not at this stage.

And Krennic is just a stupid carryover. That should have been Vader's spot.

If people need R2 (or any figure) then they should just straight up reissue him in a future case assortment.  Looks like he is going for some crazy money on eBay, so I would assume the demand is there for a reissue.

Definitely some good stuff on that list.  I'm glad to see that the 40AC Vader and Stormtrooper look like they're going to be reissued in standard packaging.  This version of Vader is awesome, and I do want to do a little army building with the Stormtrooper.

The SD9/1 note almost certainly refers to a sale date of September 1st, which is Force Friday.

But the questions for me are with these:

The educated guess about E8 VICTOR 2 w THRONE EXCL is that this is a Supreme Leader Snoke with Throne.  But E8 Victor?  I'm wondering if this is a standard 6" version of Snoke, or Snoke's guard?  Rumors about Snoke's guard have been floating around out there, so this could be it.

This set seems like one of the most interesting E8 BL GUARD OF EVIL 4PK.  Is this going to be 2 pairs of guards?  Which ones?  Or could it be guards from across the saga, including the Senate guards from the PT, Emporer's Royal guards from the OT, the TFU Shadow guards and maybe a ST Snoke's guard?  There's even been a rumor that Snoke's Royal Guard in TLJ may not be uniform in appearance, and each member of his guard may have unique appearances.  When we've seen 4-packs of Stormtrooper and Clone Troopers we've seen something akin to an Evolutions kind of assortment where there are different troopers in those sets.  This one seems like it's worth keeping an eye on.

I did some whining about MORE Gamestop exclusives on Reddit and was PM'ed by a Gamestop employee that said they were working to improve on the R5 situation and treating collectibles as video games, but will still typically only get enough to fulfill preorders. So apparently preordering ($5 down, pay the rest at pickup) guarantees you a figure. Might be worth a shot.

A guarantee from Gamestop is like investing with a guy you met in the alley.  Good luck.  When people who pre-ordered R5 didn't get one and were offered in-store credit instead, that pretty much killed what little credibility they previously had.  Hope they really are making changes, but I'll believe it when I see it.

While reorganizing my 6" figure display this weekend I realized what huge holes exist in this line.  I was organizing by PT, OT, ST and realized there is absolutely no love for the prequels with this line. 

If you don't count Yoda, Chewie, R2 and those characters that were in the PT and the OT, and don't count the five different flavors of generic rainbow clone troopers, there are five actual figures from these movies.  Obi-Wan, Anakin, Darth Maul, Jango Fett, and Commander Cody.

I've haven't collected every last variation, but I've got nearly every one made and that is 84 6" figures.  So 10 figures from the PT, and 74 figures from the OT, TFA, and RO.

While I'm in general agreement that the PT is the least interesting, I can't believe there is no Padme.  That makes no sense.  And there are some solid tier 2 characters that would make decent figures - General  Grievous, Droideka, Count Dooku, Royal Guard, Mace Windu and a bunch of the main Jedi, etc.

There's definitely a lack of love for 6" PT characters.  Qui-Gon is coming soon, so I hope things will be turning around soon.  Grievous has been rumored for some time, but I haven't seen anything concrete yet.

In fact, things with the PT have been so bleak in the 6" line that I've been thinking about getting some of the SH Figuarts pieces to fill out the Prequel segment of my 6" figure collection.  And I've even been thinking about breaking out the old POTJ Mega-Action figures so that I'll have some form of TPM Obi-Wan and the Destroyer Droid on hand, too.
